The government of the Principality is structured around three fundamental powers:
- the nobility and royalty,
- the government itself,
- and the clergy.
These entities work in concert for the well-being of the community, although the balance of power primarily lies between the government and the royalty.
The Principality of Carlisne is a constitutional monarchy that recognizes a hereditary monarch as head of state, but whose powers are limited by a constitution.
Nobility and Royalty: A Growing Influence
Until recently, the constitution served as a counterweight to the monarch's powers.
However, members of the nobility were gradually elected to key government positions.
The Duke thus proclaimed himself Chancellor, and the Countess of Lestat became the elected Prime Minister.
This development strengthened the monarchy, placing the levers of the constitution under the control of the nobility.
Despite this shift, the citizens of the Principality remain deeply attached to the monarchy, and the overall political situation gives rise to no major concerns.
