Discover the pillars of our national defense, as well as the structure and values that drive our soldiers, sailors, and airmen.

The Principality of Carlisne takes pride in its armed forces, dedicated to protecting our people and our interests.

The role of our armed forces

he Armed Forces of the Principality of Carlisne, commonly known as the Carlisne Army, constitute the Principality's military power.

Their primary role is to ensure the defense of the population, the territory, and national interests.

It is predominantly a professional military force, composed of active-duty professionals and reservists.

Nevertheless, a mandatory 24-month military service remains in effect.

Counties may, by order of the sovereign, activate reserves and initiate waves of conscription.

The County of Lestat, led by a Marchioness, is an exception; it maintains a fully professional standing military force, supported by the additional financial resources of this extremely wealthy county.

Structure and elite units

Our armed forces comprise four main branches:

  • the Royal Army (professional),
    the Royal Navy (professional),
the Royal Air and Royal Space Force (professional),
the Princely Guard (composed of conscripts from mandatory military service).

Notable elite units include:

  • the Hubert de Lestat Commando, specializing in underwater operations and counter-terrorism, composed primarily of combat swimmers qualified in operational free-fall parachuting.

  • the 11th RDP (11th Parachute Dragoon Regiment), expert in deep-range intelligence gathering

  • the 4th RHFS (4th Special Forces and Attack Helicopter Regiment);

  • the 8th Rangers Regiment, operating in airfield seizures, heliborne assaults, and the neutralization of enemy targets in hostile environments.

The core values of our forces

Merit ensures that effort is rewarded and that everyone can advance according to their own determination.

Fairness guarantees that every individual is treated with due regard, irrespective of their background. Camaraderie unites our soldiers in a spirit of cohesion and solidarity.

Responsibility instills in every soldier the need to understand their role, act with determination, and be accountable for their actions.

The drive to excel encourages pushing boundaries with fighting spirit and resilience.

Finally, high standards are essential, driven by the need for effectiveness, where everyone gives their best for the mission, for one another, and for the Principality.

"A nation's strength lies in the determination of its defenders, united by duty and brotherhood.."
